Pride of Mewar
Ajay Khathuria, a resident of Udaipur, Rajasthan, is widely recognized for his outstanding contributions to various charitable endeavors. Whether it involves food donations, clothing drives, blood drives, social services, or assisting the impoverished and elderly in nursing homes, Ajay’s name resonates with pride. Known for his smiling face, helpful nature, and tireless efforts to bring joy to the less fortunate, Ajay Khathuria is primarily a successful entrepreneur in the marble business in Udaipur, Rajasthan. He consistently allocates a fixed portion of his business income to support initiatives such as donating food, clothing, and engaging in social service.

Motivated by the memory of his late father, Mr. Jawahar Lal Khathuria, Ajay has donated blood an impressive 75 times. According to him, blood donation requires a big heart rather than money or physical strength. Ajay firmly believes that blood donation can postpone potential deaths and give someone a chance at life. Additionally, he actively works towards women empowerment, welfare, and education, exemplified by his involvement in initiatives such as “beti bachao, beti padao” (save the girl child, educate the girl child). His efforts in this area have garnered recognition and appreciation from women’s NGOs.

Environmental sustainability is also a cause close to Ajay’s heart. He actively engages in tree-planting initiatives in rural areas, emphasizing the importance of preserving the environment. As a testament to his commitment, Ajay received the prestigious Environment Protection Icon Award in 2023.

Ajay’s inspiration to donate blood regularly stems from a personal tragedy. In 2000, his father tragically lost his life in a road accident in Kuwait due to a shortage of blood. Since then, Ajay has dedicated himself to ensuring that no one suffers a similar fate due to blood shortage. He continuously motivates others, especially the youth, to become blood donors. Despite his success as a marble businessman, Ajay reveals that he could have pursued a career in the Indian Army. His reputation within the Sindhi community reflects the respect and admiration he commands.

The unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic shook Ajay to the core, witnessing the widespread devastation and loss of life. These heart-wrenching scenes reinforced his belief that he had been blessed by God to serve the poor, sick, and vulnerable. Ajay dedicated himself to providing food, water, clothing, and medicines to impoverished communities. He regards every act of service as a means of bringing happiness to the souls of his parents. Additionally, Ajay actively supports cow protection and preservation (gau sanrakshan), considering it an essential aspect of his philanthropy. Serving society has become an integral part of his life, akin to fulfilling the responsibilities of a soldier or paying the EMI of a bank loan (LIFE). His commitment extends to providing stationery and books to government schools, as well as distributing warm clothes to the needy during winter. Moreover, Ajay sponsors cataract operations for elderly individuals who cannot afford medical expenses.

In memory of his parents and with the aim of spreading Sanatan Dharma (eternal religion), Ajay has taken a pledge to donate 1000 copies of the Bhagavad Gita, a holy scripture, to youth schools, colleges, temples, libraries, and old age homes. Embracing the belief that God is one and that all religions are equal, he has traveled extensively to various holy sites across India.

Ajay’s remarkable contributions have earned him numerous awards and certificates of appreciation from esteemed government officials, politicians, and organizations. He has been recognized by IAS officials, Members of Parliament (M.P.), Members of Legislative Assembly (M.L.A.), the Departments of Social Welfare and Justice, Child Welfare, and the Lok Jan Sansthan,to name a few. Ajay has also received accolades such as the Maharana Pratap Award, a District level appreciation certificate on Republic Day, the Bharat Gaurav Award, the Gau Seva Sanrakshan Ratn Award (for cow protection and preservation), the Rashtriya Seva Ratan Award, the India Pride Award, the Rasthriya Pratishta Puruskaar, the Gandhi Mandela Peace Award, and the admiration of notable individuals like Mr. Gulabchand Kataria (Leader of the Opposition), Mr. Dharmnarayan Joshi, Olympic Medal Winner from Jaipur, and M.P.
